Negara Brunei Darussalam hosted the 8^th ASEAN Medical Laboratory Technology Conference (AMLTS) on the 5^th - 9^th September 1999. The conference was jointly organised by the Ministry of Health, Brunei Darussalam and the Brunei Darussalam Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists (BAMLS).

The theme for the 8^th ASEAN Medical Laboratory Technology Conference was ‘Challenges & New Frontiers In Laboratory Medicine Towards The New Millennium’. About 200 participants ranging from medical personnel, nurses, laboratory personnel and overseas delegates converged at the International Convention Centre, Brunei Darussalam for the conference.

BAMLS will be hosting the biennial 12^th ASEAN Conference in Clinical Laboratory Sciences on 22^nd - 24^th August 2008 at the Brunei International Convention Centre, Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam.

The upcoming conference with the theme ‘Striving For Excellence in Laboratory Practice’ will be co-organized by Ministry of Health, Brunei Darussalam. In conjunction with the 12^th ASEAN Conference of Clinical Laboratory Scientists 2008, a one-day pre-conference workshops will be held on Friday 22^nd August 2008.
